Although this article is three years old, learning that "valproate" (an anticonvulsant used to treat bipolar disorder) may also cut the use of alcohol while being treated was quite interesting. Brain mechanisms are explained late in the article, which piqued my interest in learning more about how those mechanisms are being treated & affected today.
